FOOD ALLERGY TESTS - a food allergy test is a tremendous help to one’s health

For many reasons, a food allergy test is a tremendous help to one’s health. If you are having these common symptoms listed here, it definitely would be to your advantage to know which foods are reacting well with your body chemistry and which foods are hindering it.

• Sneezing
• Headaches
• Dry throat
• Coughing
• Skin rashes
• Gas and Bloating
• Rapid pulse after eating
• Constipation
• Diarrhea
• Depression and mood swing
• Severe cravings or addictions
• Hot flashes
• Irritability
• Aches
• Dark circles under eyes
• Sleeping during the day

When we do food allergy tests we look at “classical” allergies which produce immediate symptoms. These are fairly rare (2% of population).

When we test food allergies that are delayed reactions, we are really testing food sensitivities.

When we do the delayed food allergy tests, we find foods often where you do not notice symptoms right after you eat. It may take as long as three days for symptoms to appear. So, we are often unaware of the real cause. If you feel a symptom on Wednesday, it may be hard to link it to something you ate on Sunday.

Also, these delayed reactions many times do not show up in obvious places, such as the skin, like classic food allergy testing does.

Even though a delayed food allergy may not be obvious, it can still be very harmful. If you get a reaction on your skin from a bee sting, you will notice it and treat it. But, an internal reaction to a food may cause you more generalized systemic swelling than a bee sting. It is like getting a bee sting to your whole body. Because your reaction is spread over your whole body, you may not be very aware of it. All you will notice is that you do not feel well and you have bloating and swelling.

Achieving Health Thru Nutrition, LLC has a few different ways to request food allergy tests and delayed food allergy tests (sensitivities). Please read more about the food allergy test on this website (www.nutritiondre.com)

When you contact us, mention that you are interested in the food allergy tests or food sensitivity tests. (New patient paperwork can be printed from our website and faxed to us also).
